Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack
We are looking for a Staff Engineer (full stack node.js/React) to help take on an exciting new project here at Freedom. You will be joining a growing team, driven by innovation, experimentation, and a deep understanding of our customers. As a member of this team, you’ll be working closely with your cross-functional partners across Product Management, Data Engineering, and Platform Engineering to bring value to a growing number of Freedom customers. We are a passionate, fast-moving team and we are looking to bring on talented individuals who can help us continue to learn and grow.
- Building new experiences to attract, educate, and retain Freedom Financial Network customers
- Rapidly testing, iterating, and measuring features and growth opportunities
- Developing with and contributing to a component-based architecture on node.js and React
- Take ownership of the overall architecture and development of highly scalable ReactJS frontend application that talk to Node JS API services and Lambda functions
- Demonstrating an ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in building full-stack applications on node.js, React, Google Cloud/AWS
- BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent practical experience
- 8 or more years of enterprise grade software development experience.
- 5 or more years of experience developing software in one or more modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g., ReactJS and Node.js)
- Independent and can manage your own projects and time with ease, all the while setting and managing stakeholder expectations
- Strong communication skills with a growth and learning mindset
- Experience working across the full technical stack, delivering quality code on both frontend and backend
- Expertise in measuring and improving web application performance
- Experience in communicating with other technical teams and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
- Demonstrated passion for engineering and experience with unit testing, agile project development, and bug and change management systems.
- Nice to have: proficiency with Micro-services, CI/CD, Container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes & EC2
